How old were you when your parents allowed you to cross the rode by yourself?

My Parents allowed me to do that when I was about 7 - 8.
It's because friends' houses were across the road.
After school I would cross the road and played with them.
So, parents taught me how to cross the road myself.
I still remember that moment!
It was so exciting and dangerous.
